`Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (The value of) a deed depends on the intention behind it. A man will be rewarded only for that which he intended. The emigration of one who has emigrated for the sake of Allah and His Messen-ger (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is for the sake of Allah and His Messenger (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); and the emigration of one who has emigrated for gaining worldly advantage or for marrying a woman is for that which he has emigrated.

(Agreed-upon)

Lessons Deduced:
1- The intention may vary just as in sayings and deeds.
2- Allah's acceptance of a deed depends on the intention of its doer.
3- Good intentions always bring benefit and reward to Muslims.
