On the authority of `Uqbah bin `Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of
Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
All believers are brothers. None among you should outbid another in a transaction, nor
should he make a proposal of marriage upon proposal already made by someone else until
he abandons the woman to whom he had already proposed.

Lessons Deduced:
- It is forbidden to bargain about a sold commodity or to propose to an already engaged
woman.
- Islam seeks to keep the unity and solidarity of Muslims and urges them to observe the
honor and dignity of others.
