10 Jumada Al-Thani 1421 A.H., September 9, 2000

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
If one of you sneezes, he should say: "Praise be to Allah". His brother or companion should say to him: "May Allah have mercy on you". Then the sneezer should reply: "May Allah guide you and improve your condition".

Lessons Deduced:
- The one who sneezes should say, "Alhamdu Lillah" (Praise be to Allah) and the one who hears him sneezing and praising Allah should say to him, "Yarhamuka Allah" (May Allah have mercy on you). The sneezing person should answer by saying, "Yahdikum Allah wa Yuslih Balakum" (May Allah guide you and improve your condition).
- A Muslim should return favor for favor and supplication for supplication.
